Louis Renault, industrialist and founder of automotive company the Renault Group, builds his first automotive factory on Seguin Island, a long stretch of land in the Seine River by the western Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt.
|---|---|
Nazi Germany, having invaded France, takes control of Renault's factory. Renault refuses to produce tanks for the Nazis, as he was already manufacturing the Renault UE tank for the Allies. So the factory produces trucks instead.
The first ever automatic electronic digital computer, named the Atanasoff-Berry computer or ABC, is successfully activated and tested, unwittingly laying the foundations for a data-manifested parallel reality that would come to be known as the Digital World. Once the Digital World begins to grow, agents in the likeness of humans are created to help maintain peace between the Material and Digital Worlds, among them being Gennai and Hannibal. March 3: The British Royal Air Force bombs Seguin Island.
April 4, September 3 and 15: The United States Air Force bombs Seguin Island. Hannibal becomes disgusted with humanity, seeing only the worst in them, and deems them and their world a plague to be wiped clean and flushed back into the Quantum Sea. Allying himself with those of similar mind, he also creates a human alias for himself named Mark Hollenback before joining the second World War on the European front and quickly working up the ranks.
September: The Renault Factory finally reopens after extensive repairs. Secretly, the architects have also included a three-layer underground bunker below the factory; a precaution in the event of potential future bombings.
A team of Cold War era scientists and engineers come together to create Project Carthage, a military program that started as a project of creating special Towers in the Digital World that can affect the real world in ways such as blocking enemy communication. Hollenback, now a celebrated war veteran, gains influence in Project Carthage to manipulate it towards his own hidden agenda. Project members Waldo Schaeffer and his wife Anthea grow to recognize Hollenback's influence as dangerous and leave in protest.
Five young humans are chosen to bond with Digimon partners, becoming the first ever DigiDestined. Four of the Digimon partners would "digivolve" to become the Digital World's high guardian figures known as the "Harmonious Ones" to defeat four powerful and cruel Digimon who call themselves the "Dark Masters" at the cost of the fifth's life. However, at some unspecified point between here and the 1990's, the Dark Masters would return to defeat the Harmonious Ones, sealing them away.
Waldo and Anthea move away to a secluded cottage in the mountains to get away from it all. Anthea gives birth to Aelita.
Anthea gifts Aelita a handmade elf doll for Christmas, which Waldo suggests she name Mr. Pück. Later that winter, Anthea is kidnapped from the family cottage by agents sent by Hollenback; young Aelita is traumatized by the event.
Waldo Schaeffer changes his name to Franz Hopper and moves with his daughter to a forest cottage called the Hermitage in Boulogne-Billancourt. While there, he takes up work at the local boarding school Kadic Academy as a science teacher and privately homeschools Aelita in the Hermitage. He secretly begins drawing up plans for a supercomputer to combat Carthage, should Hollenback move forward with his dark plans, and he begins looking for a potential site to build his supercomputer.
Yumi Ishiyama is born to Takeho and Akiko Ishiyama in Kyoto, Japan. William Dunbar is born to James Dunbar and his wife in Scotland.
Ulrich Stern is born to Walter Stern and his wife in Germany. Odd Della Robbia is born to Robert and Marguerite Della Robbia in Italy.
The Renault Auto Factory is shut down and abandoned. Hopper takes note and makes plans to scout the location once enough time has safely passed. November 19: Jeremy Belpois is born to Michael Belpois and his wife.
Franz Hopper explores the abandoned factory and discovers the secret postwar bunker after a fair bit of prying around. He covertly hires a small family-owned construction group called Broulet and Brothers to help him retrofit the bunker into a lab, complete with a sturdy elevator and heavy-duty passcode-locked doors on each floor of the bunker, and pays them to tell no one. Hopper somewhat reluctantly accepts help from a former Project Carthage colleague who also walked out, Swiss programmer Professor Lowell Tyron, to work on some of Lyoko's key programming, including perfecting the Towers in hopes of using them against Carthage. However, they operate from a work site separate from the factory lab, as Hopper doesn't trust Tyron with its location. Hopper and Tyron eventually come to heated disagreement over the latter's intentions, which while nowhere near as dangerous as Hollenback's, still rub Hopper the wrong way. Hopper sends Tyron off.
June 6: Hopper discovers to his horror that Hollenback's agents have been tracking him and his daughter down and are on the verge of finding them. He considers scrapping all of his work and booking it until further proofreading of his programming revealed an emergent quality in the form of "Return to the Past". To make sure he can get the programming on his supercomputer just right without the agents finding him first, Hopper makes daily use of Return to the Past over 2,000 times. When finally ready, he activates a Tower on Lyoko to encode his video diary in short time and then burn it to a series of CDs, which he hides in a train station locker. He hides the key in Mr. Pück and instructs his daughter to hide Mr. Pück somewhere secure that only she'd know. June 7: Hollenback's agents find the Hermitage, and father and daughter are forced to flee. Hopper finally takes Aelita to his lab below the factory and virtualizes both onto Lyoko, where only Aelita out of the two develops a proper Digital Avatar. XANA betrays Hopper, and Hopper shuts off the supercomputer from the inside to prevent XANA from lashing out on the world. Before it shuts down, XANA attempts to nab the Keys to Lyoko from Aelita's mind but ends up grabbing a chunk of her childhood memories instead, leaving her amnesiac.
Tai and Kari Kamiya, siblings and two young residents of the Highton View Terrace apartment complex in Tokyo, find a Digi-Egg and hatch it, raising the Botamon inside. The Botamon grows into a Koromon, then an abnormally large Agumon, and then finally a red Greymon when they are attacked by a Parrotmon outside the complex building. The two Digimon battle, with the Kamiya siblings giving emotional support to the former. The battle is also witnessed by Sora Takenouchi, Izzy Izumi, Mimi Tachikawa, Joe Kido, and siblings Matt Ishida and T.K. Takaishi, all of whom become DigiDestined from the event. Authorities later label the destruction from the battle the result of a terrorist attack.
Hiroki Ishiyama is born to Takeho and Akiko Ishiyama in Kyoto, Japan.
Takeho Ishiyama is given a job transfer to an office in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris, France; he moves there with his wife and children.
August 1: Seven of the eight witnesses of the 1995 Digimon battle receive their Digivices and Digimon partners while at summer camp; Kari remains home sick. After arriving on File Island in the center of the Digital World, the seven and their partners go on to defeat Devimon, the viral Digimon enslaving the island. Afterwards, they return to the real world to rescue the mystery eighth DigiDestined from the villainous Myotismon. August 3: Kari Kamiya is discovered to be the eighth child; she is paired with her partner, Gatomon, and given her own Digivice. Myotismon is ultimately defeated when Tai and Matt's partners, Agumon and Gabumon, "warp digivolve" into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, but the barrier between Earth and the Digital World has been weakened by the return of the Dark Masters in the DigiDestined's absence. All go back to the Digital World, where they mange to defeat the Dark Masters and then ultimately their creator, Apocalymon. Apocalymon's defeat causes the Digital World to reformat, which removes a massive time dilation and causes both worlds to flow in real time. These events are observed by many around the world who would go on to be DigiDestined, including Davis Motomiya, Cody Hida, and Michael Barton. The remains of Myotismon take refuge in a man named Yukio Oikawa.
March 4: A hostile Digimon invades the Internet, pursued by Tai Kamiya and Izzy Izumi's partners, Agumon and Tentomon. They are later supported by Matt Ishida and T.K. Takaishi's partners, Gabumon and Patamon, and Agumon and Gabumon DNA digivolve to defeat the hostile Digimon. The action is witnessed by many across the globe from their personal or family computers, including Yolei Inoue and Jeremy Belpois, both of whom are chosen as DigiDestined from the event. May: Digital World Agent Gennai summons the eight 1990's DigiDestined to the Digital World, where they sacrifice the power of the Crests, which let their partners digivolve to Ultimate level or higher, to free the Harmonious Ones from where the Dark Masters had imprisoned them.
A DigiDestined named Ken Ichijouji is infected by a Dark Spore, descends into darkness, and starts taking over the Digital World as the "Digimon Emperor" with big black towers called Control Spires, preventing potential Digimon resistance from digivolving. New DigiDestined Davis Motomiya, Yolei Inoue, and Cody Hida are granted newer D-3 model Digivices and their own partners, and T.K. Takaishi and Kari Kamiya join them as their own Digivices are upgraded to the D-3 model. Ken is pulled from his dark spiral and joins the new DigiDestined team to fight a wicked duo named Arukenimon and Mummymon, who create artificial Digimon soldiers to fight for them from Control Spires. This escalates to BlackWarGreymon, an artificial Mega level Digimon created by Arukenimon from a hundred Control Spires, but he develops self-awareness and full sapience and begins questioning his own destiny. His misguided attempts to find meaning in his life lead to destructive actions which lead to him destroying several key pieces of data for the Digital World called the Destiny Stones. This makes the Digital World start to become highly unstable. December 24: Arukenimon and Mummymon open Digi-Ports worldwide, causing pandemonium when Digimon spill out into the real world on a global scale. DigiDestined around the world need to coordinate to get all the wild Digimon back into the Digital World. Among the witnesses are Odd Della Robbia, Ulrich Stern, Yumi Ishiyama, and William Dunbar. While all of the DigiDestined are distracted, Arukenimon and Mummymon assist their boss, Yukio Oikawa, in luring in various children around Odaiba with the promise of a better life. December 25: The 1999 and 2002 teams return home to find out about the various children now missing. A dark Digimon named Daemon and his forces attack the real world in hopes of getting to Ken and his Dark Spore. The 2002 team's Digimon are forced to kill Daemon's forces when innocent civilians are put on the line, but Daemon himself is instead banished to the Dark Ocean. In the time his teammates were fighting the Daemon Corps, however, Ken found himself in the hands of Oikawa, who copied his Dark Spore onto the kidnapped children who were led to believe it would improve their lives. Oikawa escapes, and the kidnapped children are found by the police and returned to their families. December 26: Oikawa and his minions lie low for the time being until the Dark Spore copies bloom into dark flowers for harvesting. BlackWarGreymon arrives and confronts his creators before Oikawa steps to claim that he's theirs, and his by extension. BlackWarGreymon attempts to kill Oikawa, but Agumon as WarGreymon intervenes. The two WarGreymon fight, with a mega level merged form of Veemon and Wormmon named Imperialdramon joining in to assist the DigiDestined one. WarGreymon and Imperialdramon are victorious over BlackWarGreymon before reverting back to Agumon, Veemon, and Wormmon and again make a bid of friendship towards the artificial Digimon. After some initial misgivings, BlackWarGreymon considers it. December 28: One of the Dark Spore Children, Noriko, gets a dark flower bloomed on her earlier than the others and it is harvested by Oikawa. Multiple people attempt to talk Oikawa down, including Cody's grandfather who knew him as a childhood friend of Cody's late father. Under Myotismon's influence, Oikawa attempts to lethally strike Cody's grandfather, but BlackWarGreymon takes the full attack. BlackWarGreymon senses Myotismon in Oikawa and uses his dying body to seal the digital gate at the Highton View Terrace apartment complex to ensure Myotismon can't use it to return to the Digital World. December 29: Oikawa gathers the other Dark Spore Children to Highton View Terrace, unaware of BlackWarGreymon's actions in sealing the gate. His attempts to use the dark flowers growing from the kids to open the gate instead leads them to a Dream World instead, where Myotismon breaks free and uses a combination of dream power and the dark flowers to return stronger than ever as MaloMyotismon. Davis figures out how to use the dream power of the world against him, and the DigiDestined are ultimately able to defeat him once and for all. The Dark Spore Children are given their own D-3 Digivices and partners to help combat the Dark Spores' negative effects, and Oikawa, dying from Myotismon's affects on him, atones for his actions by converting the last of his life energy with dream power into a cleansing force that repairs the damage his minions had caused.
March 2: Lowell Tyron, now CEO of his own technology firm in Switzerland named Deckard Inc, recovers intel of an old Project Carthage outpost nearby where Anthea Hopper is being held. He stages a rescue mission, recovering intel on the 1994 raid of the Hermitage that claims (incorrectly) that Waldo and Aelita died in their escape attempt. Professor Tyron takes care of Anthea and comforts her on her presumed loss. Anthea would go on to join Deckard Inc in a high ranking position and help Tyron continue the "late" Waldo Schaeffer's work, and the two would be married several months later. Gennai in the Digital World has been listening in on the chatter and finds both the alleged death reports and the ease of Anthea's rescue to be suspicious and begins drawing up plans to gather a team of chosen future DigiDestined in Schaeffer/Hopper's last known location and then prepare their Digimon partners. October 8: Jeremy Belpois, now a student at Kadic Academy, becomes intrigued with the nearby Renault Factory when he keeps stumbling upon news articles online about the factory's abandonment when looking for machine parts and ideas for his robotics hobby. He explores the factory, stumbling upon the lab with the supercomputer below and figuring out the elevator access code. Turning the computer on, he finds an amnesiac Aelita on Lyoko and names her Maya. October 9: Odd Della Robbia begins school at Kadic as a boarder, enrolled by his parents after they see many glowing reviews for the school for its long standing reputation online, and becomes roommates with Ulrich Stern, to the initial ire of the latter. Jeremy continues to examine the contents of the supercomputer, including the digital environment called Lyoko that "Maya" lives in. XANA starts resuming activity at this time and attacks Maya with mechanical monsters as soon as she steps outside the Tower she had slept in, forcing her to retreat back in. He also sees Jeremy as a threat and begins attacking him as well, first by shocking him through the school's beverage dispenser and then later by possessing and attacking him with his own homemade robots. Ulrich, who just had an awkward first meeting with Yumi Ishiyama at martial arts class, grows suspicious of the two attacks on Jeremy and pressures him into telling him about the supercomputer. They attempt to test the computer's scanners and the virtualization program on Odd's smuggled-in dog Kiwi, but Odd himself inadvertently takes his place, and Ulrich follows after to rescue him. XANA tries to attack everyone in the real world by the time Odd and Ulrich return, and they just manage to survive. October 10: Jeremy further looks into Maya's predicament and discovers her code doesn't allow her to be devirtualized the same way Odd and Ulrich were, and he vows to figure out a workaround. XANA manages to create a big ball of electricity to attack anyone who knows about the supercomputer, and Yumi gets dragged into the chaos. Sissi Delmas, the school principal's daughter and a haughty Ulrich fan girl, also witnessed the supercomputer last night and was also targeted for this reason. Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi help Maya to reach a Tower that has been activated on Lyoko to see if it can help her get to the real world. Instead, she deactivates it, but in the process learns her real name is Aelita. Sissi drags her father and the physical education teacher Jim Morales to the factory, exposing Jeremy's secret, so Jeremy launches a program he recently dug up and figured out the activation sequence for: Return to the Past. October 9, again: Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd remember the events of the old October 9th and 10th, but Jeremy does not. The three fill Jeremy in on what he's forgotten, and he concludes that their retained memories are an effect of being scanned by the supercomputer and scans himself to gain the same memory immunity. Aelita reveals her real name to the group, and they further investigate the malevolent entity that attacked him, learning his name. Since they know how to neutralize XANA's attacks, by helping Aelita to deactivate the Tower he's operating through, the four Kadic students vow to keep fighting back against XANA until Aelita can be materialized to the real world and dub themselves the Lyoko Warriors. Sissi, ticked off when the Lyoko Warriors brush her off with her previous-timeline betrayal still fresh, vows to make herself a problem for them.
April 10-17: Jeremy vandalizes the exterior of a school building with a caricature of Jim Morales just prior to spring break to deliberately be held back at the school as punishment, staying behind at school to keep an eye on XANA and work on Aelita's materialization. XANA attacks the school with toxic gas, prompting a Return to the Past once the attack is neutralized, and Jeremy repeats the vandalism with a now more flattering caricature of Jim. Ulrich stays behind and takes the punishment with him, mainly to avoid his math tutoring back at home. May 8-9: Kadic Academy begins construction of a new field and track between the Science Building and gymnasium. Odd accidentally spills candy on Jeremy's dorm computer keyboard while his work-in-progress materialization program is open, miraculously hitting the right keys to perfect the program. Since no one knows which keys the candy hit, it's one-time use. XANA hijacks the bulldozers meant to carve the school's track and attempts to bulldoze the factory to deny the Lyoko Warriors access to the supercomputer. Yumi falls into the Digital Sea in the process of saving Aelita from one of XANA's monsters and is lost in the currents. After the Tower is deactivated, Jeremy sacrifices his chance to materialize Aelita with her support, using the one-time materialization program to fish Yumi out of the sea. May 22-23: XANA manages to lure a Lyoko Warrior, Yumi, in with an activated Tower and then traps her in a stasis bubble called a Guardian while no one's looking. He creates a clone of Yumi to infiltrate the group and uses it to try disconnecting the scanners while the others are on Lyoko. Yumi is freed, and the clone is stopped. Jeremy renews his resolve to materialize Aelita, as XANA has proven it can be done. June 4: Noticing some isolated but no less troubling activity in the Digital World, Ken digs into the unusually feral behavior some Digimon have displayed and follows a lead on someone named King Drasil. Davis, Yolei, and Cody come along to back him up. When confronted by a knight of King Drasil named Alphamon, they put up a good fight but are ultimately bested without Gatomon and Patamon for Hawkmon and Armadillomon to DNA digivolve with. All four DigiDestined and their partners are taken hostage; a government agency covers up their disappearance in the real world. Gennai, having been keeping tabs, hastens to finish coding a freshly reconfigured Pichimon egg for a future DigiDestined to counter the potential return of Project Carthage. But Hannibal, under the command of King Drasil and in a dark-themed version of Gennai's form, arrives and subdues him as well. King Drasil's agents see to closing up the Digital Gate so that no one else tries to intervene. July 10: With no one able to avoid the two-month summer vacation, Jeremy puts the supercomputer in a kind of 'sleep mode' that keeps Lyoko and Aelita intact in digital space but leaves all cut off from real world contact. August 30: XANA, already active again after the start of the new year and the supercomputer out of sleep mode, sends out another Guardian, this time capturing Aelita. Jeremy has been working test runs on his materialization program around the same time Aelita mysteriously disappears, and the sudden coincidental appearance of an orphaned lookalike of Aelita in class makes him think he might have accidentally executed the program and caused her to come out with amnesia. Yumi brings an ancient samurai armor from Ishiyama family history to school to use for her presentation of her summer report on Japanese culture; XANA possesses it. The Aelita lookalike, after being shown the supercomputer, reports it to the police. But the real Aelita is found, the Tower controlling the armor is deactivated, and a Return to the Past is launched. September 26: Jeremy tests his latest try with the materialization program on a strand of Aelita's hair and succeeds. Unfortunately, it bugs up Aelita's Annex Program. XANA unleashes ultrasonic blasts on the school buildings to try tearing it apart, so Aelita deactivates the Tower but is reformatted and deleted as a result of her corrupted program. Jeremy manages to recover her using the data from her hair. October 9: The Lyoko Warriors celebrate the first year anniversary of coming together to become the Lyoko Warriors. At the same time, XANA attempts to turn the factory in a death trap, nearly blowing up Jeremy and Odd in the machine rooms and trapping Yumi and Ulrich (and Sissi, who tailed them) in the broken elevator with water from the Seine River flooding it. All make it out alive and, after a Return to the Past, celebrate the anniversary in Jeremy's dorm with a cake. October 25: After losing his cool with Aelita over lack of progress, a guilty Jeremy asks Yumi to take over the supercomputer controls so he can go to Lyoko himself to apologize to Aelita in person. Yumi's inexperience causes an error in the virtualization process at the worst time, putting Jeremy in a "virtual limbo" in the supercomputer's hard drive. Aelita manages to recover enough drive memory to recover Jeremy, and the two meet in person for the first time, if only for a few moments before Jeremy is materialized back onto Earth. November 5: Ulrich, having recently joined the school soccer team in order to excel at something to meet his father's high expectations, prioritizes the match over Lyoko, earning Jeremy's ire until the latter learns about the former's father issues from Odd. XANA interrupts the game with gravity manipulation, but the attack is neutralized and time is reset. After the return trip, Kadic's team wins. November 15: Sissi attempts to drive a wedge between Ulrich and Yumi by claiming to Yumi that Ulrich has been seeing another girl named Emily for two months. After Ulrich and Yumi nearly kiss on Lyoko but are interrupted by an automatic Return to the Past, the two overcome Sissi's lies. November 27: Yumi hosts a party at her house during the weekend while her parents are away, and Odd brings in a girl from another school and crush of his, Samantha Knight, as the party DJ. Jeremy allows Sam to use his computer for the DJ work after a XANA attack and Return to the Past, as Sam had attempted to steal a laptop from the school computer lab in the previous timeline. December 1: XANA traps Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd in a copy of the real world on Lyoko called a Simulation Bubble. Jeremy and Aelita manage to work together to free them, subsequently learning about Simulation Bubbles, but the three freed Lyoko Warriors lose all memory of the incident. December 6: Jeremy finally perfects a materialization program for Aelita, dubbing it "Code: Earth", but he breaks his ankle attempting to escape a paranoid Jim to get the program to the factory to run it. The accident sees Jim's school career terminated, and Jeremy strikes a deal with Jim to help him to the factory in exchange for Team Lyoko confessing their secrets to Principal Delmas after their fight with XANA is over. The truce is made, and the materialization program works. December 13: Aelita has been staying at the Ishiyama house while the school prepares a spot for her as a day student under the pretense she is Odd's cousin. After he first day at school, the Lyoko Warriors attempt to shut down the supercomputer, only to turn it on again after discovering Aelita's vital link to XANA. Unaware of Aelita's missing memories, Jeremy mistakes the link for a virus implanted during the Code: Earth launch. December 14: Jeremy begins trying to come up with an anti-virus to Aelita's so-called "virus". XANA hijacks Code: Earth to implement it on one of his monsters, the Kankrelats, and sends a small army of them to attack Kadic. Jim, in on the secret since the first launch of Code: Earth, battles Kankrelats on Earth solo while the Lyoko Warriors deactivate the Tower. Jeremy runs a Return to the Past to its maximum time limit, just over a week, erasing Aelita's time on Earth. December 6, again: Aelita concludes that as long as XANA is active, she cannot stay away from Lyoko for too long, so she chooses to stay on Lyoko until their link can be safely severed. The Lyoko Warriors start treating Jim nicer after his bravery against the Kankrelats; touched, despite not remembering any of it, Jim starts going a little easier on the gang. From here on out, Aelita begins coming to Earth for short visits but returns so she can keep an eye out for activated Towers. December 19-31: Jeremy spends his winter vacation creating personal flying vehicles for the Lyoko Warriors to help them get around Lyoko quicker, as well as creating a program called the "Superscan" to automatically and instantly detect activated Towers so Aelita doesn't have to stay and listen for herself. While Jeremy is performing upgrades on the Lyoko Warriors' transfer codes, a bug in the process erases Odd's superpower "Future Flash". Jeremy chooses not to bother patching it back in, as he deems it more trouble than its worth. He creates an energy shield that Odd can activate by crossing his arms as compensation.
January 3: School begins again, now with Aelita as a boarder. During an outdoor science project, Aelita stumbles upon the Hermitage and begins having visions she can't explain. The Lyoko Warriors decide to start investigating the old cottage to try and figure out why, and Jeremy gives Aelita her own cell phone. January 4: Jeremy follows an online paper trail on the Hermitage and links it to a man named Franz Hopper, who was the Kadic science teacher before Mrs. Hertz. When Aelita, after constant bullying from Sissi, runs away back to Lyoko, XANA abducts her to a mysterious core sector between the four surface sectors, thereby revealing its existence to the Lyoko Warriors who dub is Sector Five. XANA resumes his attempts to extract the Keys to Lyoko from Aelita with a monster called the Scyphozoa but is stopped by the other warriors. January 5: The team, minus Yumi who is dealing with trust issues from her parents, set off on a mission to further explore the newly revealed Sector Five. Ulrich and Odd are devirtualized but do not rematerialize, necessitating a search in Sector Five's data for the proper sequence to bring them back. Yumi escapes her parents watch to rescue Aelita, giving her enough time to secure the needed data before being devirtualized herself, ensuring everybody's safe recovery. A Return to the Past is launched when Yumi's parents and school staff manage to track them down. February 1: It's Tuesday already! Sissi blackmails Jeremy with a recording she made of Jeremy and Aelita while spying on them the night before, which contains some out-of-context yet no less incriminating dialogue, offering to give up the recording in return for being told everything. Ulrich distracts Sissi after class with Pencak Silat lessons, but Odd and Jeremy are caught trying to recover the MiniDisc from Sissi's Walkman. At the same time, XANA infects the supercomputer through a Trojan horse he slipped on the Lyoko Warriors during their last Sector Five voyage, hijacking the Return to the Past program. February 1, again: It's Tuesday already! Ulrich gets the jump on Sissi with the same offer of Pencak Silat lessons, while Jeremy examines the supercomputer and discovers XANA's Trojan horse. As Ulrich feeds Sissi a story of Jeremy and Aelita going crazy and "thinking they're virtual people," to provide "context" to the recorded conversation, Jeremy spots an activated Tower before XANA turns the clock back again. February 1, again 2x: It's Tue--*click* This time, the Lyoko Warriors head straight from class to the factory to deactivate the Tower spotted in the previous February 1st. Sissi, not finding the gang at school, takes her recording straight to her father, Principal Delmas, who calls Odd's parents and discovers the lie of Aelita's claimed relation. XANA Returns to the Past before the Lyoko Warriors can deactivate his Tower. Aelita's tie to XANA keeps her on Lyoko. February 1, again 3x: It's Tues--*click* XANA possesses Sissi, controlling a human directly for the first time. Jeremy realizes that Return to the Past increases the supercomputer's processing power, and consequently XANA's own power. Sissi's Walkman is destroyed in the battle. Jeremy successfully undoes the effects of XANA's Trojan horse and strips him of his Return to the Past control while Aelita manages to deactivate the Tower. February 6: Aelita has nightmares about an elf being chased by wolves, which lead the Lyoko Warriors back to the Hermitage. There, Aelita finds Mr. Pück hidden in a hole in the wall behind a painting, and the gang subsequently find the train station locker key. Jeremy finds Franz Hopper's diary and, realizing it's going to take a long time to decode, copies all the encrypted data on the CDs to a restricted-access part of the supercomputer. February 7: XANA learns the hard way, and the Lyoko Warriors from his failures, that he cannot possess humans who have experience going digital when Odd and Ulrich both resist. Jeremy, who has had too little experience going digital to resist, is possessed. Unaware that Jeremy has already copied all of their data elsewhere, XANA destroys Hopper's diary CDs. After Jeremy is freed from XANA's control, Ulrich and Odd take him to Lyoko with them to give him more digital experience, resulting in a humiliating experience for Jeremy. He swears that day he'll never set foot on Lyoko again, and his Digital Avatar's appearance remains a mystery to all but himself, Ulrich, and Odd for the time being. February 14: XANA delivers a computer chip, designed to overcome a human's resistance to his possession, to Aelita, disguised as a pendant necklace from Jeremy for Valentine's Day. The possessed Aelita delivers herself to the Scyphozoa for a memory-wipe, but the rest of the Lyoko Warriors force XANA to let her go by nearly killing her just to keep XANA from acquiring whatever he wants in her mind. Jeremy hopes to use the chip to try to learn more on XANA. June 19: An infected Kuwagamon attack on an airport in Odaiba, Tokyo reunites the Highton View Terrace DigiDestined with their partners, but the ensuing battle creates negative press for the Digimon species as a whole. June 20: Daigo Nishijima, a teacher at Tsukishima General High School, discloses to the Highton View Terrace DigiDestined his position as an agent for the National Data Processing Bureau and the known intel on infected Digimon and the distortions causing them to appear in the real world. June 21: Izzy Izumi unveils a new virtual cyberspace that can act as a save haven for his and his friends' Digimon partners, which they can enter and exit at will from virtually any web-enabled computer. June 25: A mystery Digimon named Alphamon sets its sights on a Digimon partner named Meicoomon; she's rescued by the Highton View Terrace DigiDestined, but not without major collateral damage that furthers negative public opinions. Meicoomon and her partner, Meiko Mochizuki, are welcomed into the team. June 26: An infected Ogremon attacks Primary Village, File Island and is driven off by Leomon. Ogremon later arrives in the real world, where the NDPB field-tests new electrical weaponry on the hostile Digimon; as he retaliates, Leomon intervenes again. June 27: Ogremon returns and attracts media attention. Mimi Tachikawa has her partner attack Ogremon ahead of the others in an attempt to boost public opinion of Digimon, but the attempt backfires when Togemon accidentally brings down a low-flying helicopter. June 29: The school festival is held at Tsukishima General High; the local Digimon partners coerce Leomon into sneaking them in. Meicoomon is abducted by what appears to be the Digimon Emperor, who retreats through a distortion that only allows in Palmon, Gomamon, and Leomon and then orders an Imperialdramon to attack. Palmon and Gomamon digivolve to their Mega levels and defeat the Imperialdramon with Leomon's help. Leomon is infected but fights off the infection to help in Meicoomon's rescue, but Meicoomon mutates, fatally wounds Leomon, and escapes. NDPB agent Maki Himekawa deduces that Meicoomon is the source of the infection. June 30: Final exams are happening at Kadic Academy, and Principal Delmas approves of use of the gymnasium for a party afterwards. Aelita helps repair the mixing board to be used for the party and soon after takes an interest in DJ work. Jim is possessed by XANA and kidnaps Aelita for the Scyphozoa in the middle of a performance, but a Return to the Past is performed after her rescue, and the post-finals party goes off without a hitch. Meanwhile in Odaiba, T.K. Takaishi's partner Patamon shows signs of infection; T.K. takes him home and keeps quiet about Patamon's condition. July 1: The Highton View Terrace DigiDestined try to take precautions to prevents their partners from becoming infected, though most besides T.K. remain unaware of Patamon's condition. Consequently, the infection starts spreading to the other Digimon partners anyway. At Kadic Academy, Yumi Ishiyama's class gets their end-of-year photo taken; Yumi misses due to the Scyphozoa stealing her DNA sequence code and preventing her from rematerializing. This ends up being a ploy by XANA to trick Aelita into giving Yumi's her own, which would leave her memory open and vulnerable, but the Lyoko Warriors manage to recover Yumi's own code from Sector Five and foil XANA's plan. Sissi dresses as Yumi to take her place in the class photo but is caught; she's nonetheless repaid for her help with a pair of tickets Yumi bought to a concert by the popular band the Subsonics to attend with Ulrich. July 4: A high digital authority possesses Kari Kamiya and presents a possible solution for the infection situation to the local Digimon partners in the form of a "reboot" that would require a "great sacrifice". The entity, identified as Homeostasis, loses the connection to Kari, but the Digimon realize the sacrifice in question may be all of their memories. Both Tai Kamiya and Izzy are informed of the possible impending reboot, and Izzy starts formulating a plan in response. Meicoomon arrives through a distortion and digivolves into Meicrackmon, and the local Digimon partners are forced to fight her back as well as fight their own infections. Izzy creates a backup shield to restore their partners' memories after the rapidly approaching reboot wipes them along with the infection, but none of them make it into the shield in time before the reboot takes place. Unknown to everyone, Meicrackmon's data mixed with the shield during the battle, resulting in her retaining a compressed copy of all Digimon's memories after the reboot occurs. Lyoko, due to its encompassing Virtual Shell isolating it from the greater Digital World, is unaffected by the reboot. July 8: Aelita reluctantly returns to a Tower in Lyoko while an arguably even more reluctant Jeremy puts the supercomputer back into its sleep mode. Aelita has nowhere else to stay for the summer, and no one's really sure what effect even sleep mode would have for her while she and XANA are linked and don't want to risk it. July 11: Maki Himekawa and Daigo Nishijima aid the Highton View Terrace DigiDestined in opening a portal to the Digital World. They reunite with their memory-wiped partners and begin reforging their bonds from scratch. At night, they are attacked and separated by a resurrected Machinedramon. July 12: Himekawa, one of the original DigiDestined, tracks down her own former partner, the Tapirmon who died when her friends' partners became the Harmonious Ones, but she is unable to reconnect. The Highton View Terrace DigiDestined and their partners are attacked by Machinedramon and MetalSeadramon, and most manage to achieve their mega forms and defeat them. Hannibal in "Dark Gennai" form attacks Meiko to force Meicoomon to digivolve into Meicrackmon, and Meicrackmon opens a wide number of portals between worlds to allow armies of brainwashed Digimon to Earth. July 13: Hackmon, a messenger of Homeostasis, warns remaining NDPB agents that Meicoomon contains leftover data from Apocalymon, the creature that the Highton View Terrace DigiDestined defeated in 1999, and claims that Meicoomon is too dangerous to remain alive. July 14: The 1999 DigiDestined are ejected from the Digital World back to Odaiba and are promptly arrested for harboring Digimon, who managed to escape to Izzy's virtual cyberspace before the arrest. They are bailed out and kept safe at the closed school by Daigo Nishijima. July 15: Meicrackmon returns to Odaiba, and the 1999 Digimon warp digivolve in attempt to subdue her until she can be saved. Hackmon, warp digivolved to Jesmon, intervenes and tries to wipe out Meicrackmon, who digivolves to Raguelmon in response and begins negatively affecting the material world around her. The 1999 Digimon attempt to lure Raguelmon out to the ocean to minimize damage. The fight is instead dragged through a distortion back into the Digital World, and WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon DNA digivolve into Omnimon to hold the rift open for everyone else to follow. Alphamon is sent by Hannibal's superior, King Drasil, further complicating the battle, while Himekawa drowns elsewhere in the Dark Ocean. Tai and Nishijima fall into a large crevice created by the battle and are seemingly lost; Kari falls into despair and inadvertently causes her partner to dark warp digivolve into Orphanimon Falldown Mode, who DNA digivolves with Raguelmon into the nigh-unstoppable Ordinemon and rapidly begins spreading the distortions and a blanket of darkness over the real world. Hackmon warns the 1999 DigiDestined team that a real world reboot may be inevitable if Ordinemon isn't stopped. Tai wakes up in an underground lab where the missing Davis, Yolei, Cody, and Ken as well as the real Gennai have been kept in stasis. Hannibal arrives to turn off their life support and rig the lab to self destruct, after which an already fatally wounded Nishijima launches the captives and Tai in a spare pod out of the Digital World moments before the lab is destroyed. With a hint from Gatomon through her mental link to Kari, Izzy figures out that Meicoomon is carrying all Digimon's memories and works with Meiko to unlock them and return all data to their proper Digimon. Gatomon attempts to break free of the fusion as the other 1999 Digimon by their partners digivolve to mega, and Jesmon aids in preventing Ordinemon from escaping and helping Gatomon fully break free. King Drasil uploads viral data into Ordinemon in place of all the compressed Digimon memory files to keep her in form and continue her destruction. With the return of Tai and an extra boost from Meiko's Digivice, all eight 1999 Digimon DNA digivolve into Omnimon Merciful Mode and wipe out Ordinemon. Meicoomon would later reconfigure into a fresh Digi-Egg without the corrupting Apocalymon data, but Hannibal would secretly abscond with the Apocalymon data for himself and turn his focus back to his old Project Carthage scheme. July 16: Gennai resumes work on preparing the Digimon partners for the anti-Carthage DigiDestined team, who are now declaring themselves the Lyoko Warriors. He checks in on the already assembled group and discovers that they have recovered Waldo Schaeffer's daughter, Aelita, and uses digital scans of her to begin preparing a partner for her as well. August 15: Takeho Ishiyama is laid off from his job in suburban Paris; the Ishiyamas prepare for the possibility of having to return to Kyoto. Ulrich, out of desperation, writes down the winning numbers of a lottery ticket and Returns to the Past behind everyone's backs to enter that ticket on the Ishiyamas' behalf. Yumi's parents are touched but decline to accept it. August 16: The gang easily track Ulrich's actions back to him and shun him for reckless use of the supercomputer. He is accepted back into the gang during a XANA attack in which Nicholas Poliakoff is possessed. Ulrich donates his lottery winnings to a charity in Africa building wells for drinking water. Takeho gets recommended to a new career position by a local friend, ensuring his family can stay in Boulogne-Billancourt. August 25: Jeremy programs a multi-agent system inspired by a science lesson on worker ants, calling it the Marabounta. It's programmed to target XANA's monsters, but the Marabounta mistakenly targets Aelita due to her connection to XANA and subsequently goes out of control when Odd defends her from it. The Lyoko Warriors and XANA are forced to team up to defeat it. September 8: French criminal Peter Duncan is possessed by XANA en route to prison. The supercomputer's uranium battery is depleting, and XANA uses Duncan to steal a new rod and coerces Jeremy into helping by installing it himself, knowing Team Lyoko has just as much at stake in keeping the supercomputer from powering down. Peter Duncan, once no longer possessed, is later anonymously dropped off at the police station. September 16: Kadic Academy hosts driving lessons at its track and field, where a confrontation between Ulrich and William over Yumi turns physical and lands both in detention. XANA materializes two of one of his larger monsters, the Krab, destroying the scanners they emerge from in the process; a third one is sent to the real world after Aelita is virtualized, forcing her to go on her own. Aelita escapes capture by the Scyphozoa with some clever illusionary work, and William helps destroy one of the Krabs. After the Return to the Past, Ulrich shows William some more respect and is subsequently invited to join a go-kart club. September 27: XANA possesses Principal Delmas and kidnaps Yumi and Odd to a cold storage facility, threatening to "liquidate" them if Aelita isn't surrendered to the Scyphozoa in time. With the school on lockdown with a police presence due to the principal's actions, Jeremy and Aelita fill Sissi in on Lyoko, and she helps them get out of school grounds and to the factory. Sissi aids in preventing her possessed father from causing anymore harm as Aelita is rescued on Lyoko, then she kisses Ulrich on the Seguin Island bridge after learning everyone including her will be made to forget everything. Subsequently, Ulrich and Odd are the only ones who know about the kiss, and they choose to tell no one. October 2-3: A bug causes Odd and Yumi to be materialized into each other's bodies. The gang manage to correct the error by rebooting the materialization program from Sector Five, just managing to do so before their bodies completely destabilize. They agree afterwards to never speak of this again (or that's what Yumi recalls, at least). October 6: XANA creates an enhanced version of his spectres, the polymorphic spectre, and tests it strategic kisses to different people as different people to drive a wedge between the Lyoko Warriors. They eventually figure out the ruse and put a stop to it. October 9: The gang celebrate their second anniversary since they came together as the Lyoko Warriors. This time, Aelita is on Earth to enjoy cake with them. It's a fairly peaceful day and probably wouldn't have been made an episode if their lives were a TV show. October 15: Meiko Mochizuki settles back down after her family has moved back to their old home. Homeostasis has shut down King Drasil, but Hannibal escaped with his own hidden agenda in mind. Izzy begins working on developing a possible system to allow travel between the material and Digital Worlds without needing a Digivice, and he and his team begin looking to possible ways to repair the reputation of Digimon as a whole. October 30: Aelita begins having more intense visions of the Hermitage and Franz Hopper. The others figure XANA is using his virus in her to implant those visions to mess with her, but still wants to understand the truth behind them. Meanwhile, Odd dates a mystery girl online who turns out to be Sissi. After he discovers who she is, he tells no one, not even Sissi herself. November 8: After XANA possesses Nurse Yolanda Perraudin to kidnap Aelita, Jeremy tries an experiment of activating a Tower himself and creating his own spectre to enhance one of their own. Odd voluntarily becomes his test subject, and it nearly ends badly for him when XANA hijacks Jeremy's Tower. This isn't Jeremy's last venture in activating Towers, as he goes on to developing better ways to protect his own from XANA, but he decides forgo any future attempts to enhance with spectres. November 18-19: XANA creates a polymorphic spectre posing as Franz Hopper in a divide-and-conquer plot, but Jeremy figures him out when "Franz" knows about the destroyed diary CDs and then uses a clone of his own to trick XANA when he attempts to attack Aelita with the Scyphozoa. Jeremy celebrates his birthday, and he initially takes an offer from his father to transfer to another school for the gifted during the XANA-induced rift, but he takes it back after he and his friends reconcile. Jeremy also receives an impressive framed, hand-drawn picture of the five (plus Kiwi) from Odd and keeps it on his dorm desk from then on. December 15: Sissi is possessed by a mysterious entity with a white Tower on Lyoko during Short Film Night at Kadic Academy, who turns out to be Franz Hopper trying to make contact with Jeremy. Before XANA forcibly shuts down Franz's white Tower, he is able to relay instructions to locate data in Sector Five that can aid in decoding his diary. December 16: The Lyoko Warriors find the data needed in Sector Five and then take a lunch break while Jeremy plans to activate a Tower to effectively run the data on Hopper's diary. XANA lures Odd away with a text from an alleged "mystery girl", traps him at the Hermitage, and replaces him with a clone to sabotage the diary decoding mission. Franz Hopper himself intervenes, and the decoding is complete. Jeremy watches the diary in its entirety, learning vague bits about Project Carthage, the basics Hopper knows about the Digital World, and of Hopper's family life. Jeremy calls a group meeting at the end of the day and slowly eases everyone into the truth of Aelita's true identity as Franz Hopper's daughter. December 17: Kadic Academy hosts an end-of-the-year dance before winter vacation that is couples only. Odd cannot get a date, and he's since earned a reputation among the female students. Meanwhile, Jeremy has used the knowledge from the diary to figure out the "virus" had really been a missing fragment and arranges a mission to go to Sector Five in order to find it. The mission ends in disaster when XANA devirtualizes everyone else and traps an isolated Aelita with the Scyphozoa, finally draining her of everything and claiming the Keys to Lyoko from her. He breaks loose from Lyoko's protective outer shell, escaping into the greater Digital World and leaving both Aelita and the virtual landscape itself for dead. Franz intervenes to revive Lyoko with his own Keys and restore his daughter's memories both old and new. Despite XANA's victory, the Lyoko Warriors only strengthen their resolve to find a way to end XANA for good and save Franz Hopper as well. December 24: Meiko receives Christmas gifts from all the DigiDestined back in Odaiba, and they all have a peaceful holiday with hope for the future. However, at the same time, large, ominous domes with sturdy gates marked with a mysterious Eye sigil have started to appear in seemingly random points across the Digital World, and no one is sure what to make of them. The global DigiDestined are unable to enter these domes and seeing that nothing is coming of them at the moment, it's decided they should wait and see. On occasion, some Digimon watching the mystery domes claim to catch sight of strange, emotionless monster robots patrolling the areas around them. Aelita, meanwhile, has been spending the holidays with the Ishiyamas, with forged "permission" from her fake Canadian foster family. She discovers during a visit to Lyoko that she has a superpower called "Energy Field", which XANA apparently stole the data for back when he took her childhood memories.
January 2: Classes resume at Kadic Academy, and XANA has mounted a surprising zero number of offenses in the past couple of weeks of being free from the confines of Lyoko. Jeremy doesn't trust this unusual quiet and updates the Superscan to track XANA down. Jim influences the principal into putting Odd into separate classes from his same-grade friends for the spring semester, so Odd digs into Jim's past and discovers an embarrassing disco video of the physical education instructor titled "Paco, The King of Disco". He blackmails Jim with this intel but later lets the guilt get the better of him and hands the evidence back to him. Jim shows mercy by rescinding his suggestion to the principal in exchange for Odd's vow of secrecy. XANA launches an attack on the core programs of Lyoko in the center of Sector Five, which prompts the Lyoko Warriors into learning of the core and intervening to foil the attack. January 3: Jeremy Belpois, Odd Della Robbia, and Herb Pichon run for class representative. Yumi is attacked on a field trip when a troublingly large spectre manages to possess everyone on the bus but her. On Lyoko, the Scyphozoa captures Aelita, but it implants data into her mind instead this time; she is possessed by XANA and inputs his special Tower-activation code into the Forest Sector's Way Tower, allowing him to directly access and delete the entire sector's code. Ulrich and William aide Yumi against the possessed field trip group, and William is knocked out. He's taken back to the school after the attack is over and made to believe he dreamed it all. January 4: Jeremy drops out of the class representative campaign and votes for Odd; Odd beats Herb in the election and wins the position. Jeremy begins to work on developing a direct-to-Sector Five virtualization program. January 15: Late at night, XANA hacks Jeremy's dorm computer and, by proxy through it, the supercomputer of a large weapons manufacturer. This prompts government agents to tail Jeremy and discover the supercomputer at the factory. XANA follows this up by possessing the agents and using them to try destroying the supercomputer, but the attack is foiled before Returning to the Past. Odd acquires a Tamagutchi virtual pet and nicknames him Jean-Pierre, becoming addicted to the point that his fellow Lyoko Warriors conspire to get rid of it. The Tamagutchi is given to Yumi's little brother, Hiroki, who accidentally kills it. January 23: Still haunted by the sudden return of her memories, particularly of her traumatizing first encounter with XANA and the subsequent loss of her father, Aelita takes Odd and goes behind the rest of the team's back to search for evidence of Franz Hopper still being alive on Lyoko. They accidentally stumble upon a ploy by XANA to destroy the Core of Lyoko while they're supposed to be distracted by an activated Tower elsewhere on Lyoko. In both recognition of the positive outcome their actions had and understanding of how important this is to Aelita, Jeremy encourages Aelita to return to her original mission after the Core is rescued. On the same day, Odd goes to the school nurse regarding a severe foot odor condition (which somehow everyone in school but him knew about) and is given a prescription foot cream, which somehow manages to smell worse than the condition it's meant to treat. January 28: XANA possesses a murder of crows to attack the Lyoko Warriors with, critically wounding Yumi as well as taking Jeremy out of commission moments before the Tower is deactivated. XANA uses the mess he orchestrated to possess Aelita with the Scyphozoa and enter CODE XANA into the Desert Sector's Way Tower and delete the attached sector. On the same day, Ulrich was approached by Hiroki's school friend Johnny, who confesses to a crush on Yumi and asks for advice. Ulrich acts on his petty side and prompts Johnny to follow Yumi around nonstop for her attention. After a Return Trip to undo the damage by the possessed crows, Ulrich apologizes to Yumi through Johnny, as Yumi was not happy at all when she learned of the stunt. February 6: XANA possesses a construction worker to plant explosives around the factory. William follows the Lyoko Warriors to the factory and butts in on their activity, but he proves crucial to stopping the explosives from going off while Yumi prevents a Scyphozoa-possessed Aelita from deleting the Ice Sector. The team votes to make William a Lyoko Warrior, but Yumi's no vote has William rejected and his memories wiped by a Return to the Past. February 10: Kadic Academy runs rehearsals for a low-budget school performance of Cyrano de Bergerac, but the act is ruined when a strange affliction given to Odd and Ulrich in Sector Five causes them to hallucinate that they are fighting monsters on Lyoko. XANA uses the chaos to launch an attack on the Core of Lyoko while his enemies are distracted, but Jeremy manages to lure Odd and Ulrich to the factory and the real Lyoko before they get themselves committed, the affliction is cured, and the Core is saved. A Return to the Past is launched, erasing the moments of insanity from the timeline. February 12: XANA sabotages the supercomputer's processors and then possesses the trees of the forest near Kadic. Jeremy and Aelita manage to repair the computer damage, but the supercomputer is too drained of processing power to properly reboot, prompting Aelita to deliberately delete the Ice Sector. February 24: Jeremy tests an experimental direct-to-Sector Five virtualization program with Ulrich selected as the guinea pig, but he is seemingly lost in the process. February 25: Ulrich shows up as a disembodied spectre that can only communicate by possessing others. He uses this to possess Jim and attend an academic review, where he successfully talks himself out of a transfer to remedial classes. XANA, meanwhile, uses this to possess Ulrich's Digital Avatar in Sector Five and try to destroy the Core with it, but Ulrich is able to reclaim his body. March 3: Odd lamenting the past loss of his Future Flash ability prompts Jeremy to program him a new superpower, Teleportation. It bugs, creating two clones of Odd who materialize with him. XANA creates a petrifying smoke and attacks the school with it, turning numerous on campus to stone including one of the Odd clones. In spite of this, Jeremy is able to refuse the Odds into one on Lyoko, and he helps Aelita get to the Tower to deactivate it. The damage at school is undone by Return to the Past. Jeremy works to debug the Teleportation program, but Odd claims he's content without it. Instead of just deleting the program after all the work he put into it, Jeremy simply attaches it to an unused asset in the supercomputer hard drive for the time being. April 7: XANA's attacks have increased in number over the past month, causing issue with the number of classes the Lyoko Warriors have been missing. While Jeremy works on his direct line to Sector Five, XANA makes a polymorphic spectre to discard of him and trick the other Lyoko Warriors. The ploy has its ups and downs, but XANA ultimately manages to get Aelita possessed by the Scyphozoa to delete the final surface sector, the Mountain Sector. Lamenting how their struggles that day stemmed from needing to avoid academic punishment, with Yumi only making it out due to William covering for her, the team revisit their previous considerations from a month and a half ago for adding William, and Yumi reluctantly agrees. Jeremy, meanwhile, has successfully completed his virtualize-to-Sector-Five program, and not a moment too soon. Later that day, William is taken to the factory, where he swears his oath to the secret of Lyoko and is scanned to create his Digital Avatar and grant him Return to the Past immunity. April 8: Jeremy and Aelita create a program in attempt to locate Franz Hopper on Lyoko, but Jeremy is caught up with Kadic News reporters Milly Solovieff and Tamiya Diop, who insist on interviewing him over his class valedictorian status; Aelita goes to run the program alone. XANA begins an attack on the Core of Lyoko in this time, but with Jeremy caught between two arguing little reporters, Ulrich held back by the arrival of his father over his school performance, Odd catching up with his old girlfriend Sam Knight at an Inter-Academy Skateboard Championship and unaware of what's happening, and Yumi stuck babysitting her brother, Aelita goes in with only the rookie William with her. William's cockiness on his first mission gets him separated from Aelita and possessed by the Scyphozoa. The rest of the Lyoko Warriors arrive only once XANA-William has already begun a brutal attack on the Core, and he easily defeats them all before destroying the Core itself. Later that evening, Jeremy receives an e-mail from Franz Hopper, who escaped Lyoko's destruction, with vital coding details including how to rebuild the lost Lyoko. April 13: While Jeremy and Aelita have been staying at school to try and find William and undertaking the massive programming endeavor that will rebuild Lyoko proverbially from the ground up, Ulrich and Odd have returned to their respective homes over the spring break week. A D-3 model Digivice is delivered to Odd, who discovers it via Kiwi playing with it and then accidentally opens a Digi-Port on his home computer. Jumping in and realizing he's in a digital space when he arrives as his Digital Avatar, Odd not only meets his Digimon partner but sees one of the mystery domes. He recognizes the sigil on the sealed gate immediately, and his partner gets a quick lesson on Lyoko and the fight against XANA. April 16: Boarders begin returning to Kadic Academy for classes to resume. Jeremy fabricates a story of William being overseas to explain why he isn't returning to give him time to try and locate and recover him. Digimon Adventure: Rise of XANA has begun.
